Eye test
All our eye tests, NHS and private, are carried out in comfort of your own home.
We will bring all the equipment that we need to test your vision and check the health of your eyes thoroughly for conditions such as glaucoma, macular degeneration and cataracts.
Don't worry if you have a disability or medical condition, we are experienced in tailoring eye tests to meet individual needs.
If you would like to have a friend, relative or carer with you, that is no problem. We understand it is reassuring to have someone with you to help ask any questions or discuss any concerns about your eye care.
We always carry identity cards with us and will never visit a home without prior booking.
We provide NHS and private home eye tests. In order to qualify for a NHS funded eye test you must meet the requirements (see our NHS page).
If you don't meet the requirements, don't worry, we can still perform a full eye test in the comfort of your home for a fee of £65.
If you are over 60 and you are able to get to your own opticians then unfortunately you won't qualify for a free home eye test. You can opt to pay privately if you wish.

Equipment
We have specially designed and adapted equipment for home eye tests which means we can carry out a comprehensive eye test just like at an opticians.
We will explain everything as we go along and summarise your results.
We will then provide you with a prescription and our recommendations.
We can even test for glaucoma without the puff of air using a specially designed portable tonometer to measure the pressure in your eyes.
As well as glasses and sunglasses we can also advise other solutions to help meet your eye care needs. We are able to provide advice on lighting and low vision aids such as magnifiers as well as health treatments such as drops for dry eyes.
